The Bureau of Immigration (BI) clarified in its 08 September 2023 Advisory that the ACR I-Card proves that the holder is a registered foreign national with the BI–it shall not be the basis for the holder’s Immigration status in the Philippines. Registered foreign nationals should present both their valid ACR I-Cards and the passport with the valid visa implementation stamp every time they enter/exit through Philippine immigration.
If the passport bearing the valid visa has expired, the BI recommends restamping the visa to the current passport to avoid issues whenever travelling in or out of the Philippines.
Passports renewed here in the Philippines and have not been used for outbound travel should have the latest PH arrival stamp transferred first to the new passport before restamping the visa.
